Pumpfun Skill

The Pumpfun Skill plugs into your AI coding assistant and turns it into a Pump.fun integration expert. It asks the right discovery questions, picks the right API (⚡ Lightning vs 🔐 Local), and writes code against the live PumpDev endpoints — instead of hallucinating fields.

Why a skill, not a prompt?

Skills load only when relevant, ship reference files the AI can open on demand, and live next to your project. No copy-pasting prompts every session.

What It Does

When you ask your AI something like "build a pump.fun sniper bot" or "add a buy button to my app", the skill fires and walks through a short discovery flow before writing a line of code:

  1. Which chain — Solana/pump.fun or PONS on Robinhood Chain?
  2. Speed vs self-custody — Lightning or Local API?
  3. What are you building — trade, create, bundle, claim, stream?
  4. Wallets — PumpDev-hosted or bring-your-own keypair?
  5. Single tx vs atomic bundle — Jito tip required?
  6. Quote mint (SOL vs USDC), denomination, slippage, priority fee, Jito tip, mayhem mode
  7. Metadata source — pre-uploaded URI or image + auto-host?

Then it produces a Build Brief and ships a working happy-path script using the correct endpoint from the start.

Install

Install into the project you're working in. The skill loads automatically when your AI is started from that folder.

mkdir -p .claude/skills
cd .claude/skills
curl -fsSL https://pumpdev.io/skill/pumpdev.zip -o pumpdev.zip
unzip pumpdev.zip && rm pumpdev.zip
Compatibility

The .claude/skills/ path is the standard location for AI skills that follow the SKILL.md format. If your AI agent reads skills from a different folder, drop the pumpdev/ directory there instead — the content is the same.

Verify

Open the project in your AI coding assistant and ask:

Build a pump.fun sniper bot that buys any new token whose symbol ends in "pump".

You should see the AI run through the discovery questions (Lightning vs Local, wallets, slippage, priority fee, Jito tip) before writing code — that's the skill firing.

If it dives straight into code instead, the skill isn't loaded. Double-check the install path is exactly .claude/skills/pumpdev/SKILL.md.

What's Inside

FilePurpose
SKILL.mdChain + API decision tree, discovery flow, 4-phase workflow, per-use-case snippets (Solana and PONS)
references/endpoints.mdFull request/response shapes for every endpoint, both chains
references/recipes.mdSniper, copy-trader, self-custody, launcher, bundle, fee-claimer, PONS sniper

Your AI reads SKILL.md automatically when the skill is relevant, and opens the reference files on demand — so you get deep context without bloating every conversation.

View Skill as Text

Open any file directly in your browser to read, copy, or inspect the full source:

Paste into any AI

Don't use Claude Code? Open the files above, copy the text, and paste it into your AI assistant as context. The skill works with any LLM that accepts system-level instructions.

Use With Your API Key

  1. Get a key in 30 seconds at Lightning Setup.

  2. Add it to your environment:

    export PUMPDEV_API_KEY=pdk_...
  3. Tell your AI: "use my PumpDev API key from PUMPDEV_API_KEY".

The skill instructs the AI to never bundle the key into a browser build and to use the X-Api-Key header or ?api-key= query param on Lightning endpoints.

Updating & Uninstalling

Update — re-run the install command. The zip overwrites the folder.

Uninstall — delete the folder:

rm -rf .claude/skills/pumpdev
# or, for user-scope:
rm -rf ~/.claude/skills/pumpdev

Example Prompts

Things the skill is tuned for:

  • "Build a sniper bot that subscribes to new launches and buys 0.05 SOL of anything whose name matches /pepe/i."
  • "Add a Phantom-signed buy button to my React app using the local trade API."
  • "Launch a token with name Demo, symbol DMO, my logo at https://example.com/logo.png, and a 0.5 SOL dev buy in the same tx."
  • "Multi-wallet launch: 1 create + 3 buyers, atomic via Jito."
  • "Cron that claims creator fees hourly and splits them 50/30/20 between three wallets."
  • "Stream every trade for a watchlist of mints into a SQLite table."
  • "Snipe PONS launches on Robinhood Chain: stream subscribeNewToken and buy 0.02 ETH of every launch, signing locally with ethers."

Compatibility

  • AI coding assistants — works with any agent that consumes the SKILL.md format from a .claude/skills/ (or equivalent) folder.
  • API surface — pinned to https://pumpdev.io for Solana and https://rhc.pumpdev.io for PONS on Robinhood Chain. REST request/response shapes are stable, and the skill is aware of quote-mint-specific flows such as USDC creation/claims and WebSocket quoteAmount / marketCapQuote fields for non-SOL pairs.
  • Two chains — the skill knows Robinhood Chain is EVM (ethers/viem, Local signing only, priorityFee in gwei per gas, ERC-20 approvals) and will not hand you @solana/web3.js code for a PONS token.
  • License — MIT. Use it however you want.
